COURSE OVERVIEW
This one day sewing workshop is aimed at absolute beginners -; if you’;ve never used a sewing machine, or have lost all your confidence, then this is the one for you! You will learn how to thread up a machine, wind a bobbin, use different stitches to make a cushion cover/tote bag and (time dependent) a drawstring bag and/or a zip purse.
The course will take you through the basics of machine sewing including how to thread up, wind a bobbin, change stitches/length, cutting out simple shapes, pin and sew accurate seam allowance, hems, darts, zip insertion (time allowing).
Sewing machines and overlockers are available to use at the college, although you may find it useful to have your own sewing machine to practice sewing techniques at home.
Tutor Jo Bunner. This workshop will run on a Saturday 1000-1600
