COURSE OVERVIEW

About the Course
Participants will work collaboratively within teams throughout the duration of the course to complete a range of activities which further develops their knowledge and skills. Topics covered are outlined below:
  • Week 1: Tackling Cyber Security (Cyber Teams)
  • Week 2: Information Security Standards
  • Week 3: Governance, Risk and Compliance
  • Week 4: Cyber Situational Awareness
  • Week 5: Enterprise Security, Application Security & Cloud Security
  • Week 6: Identity and Access Governance (IAG)
  • Week 7: Incident Response, Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery
  • Week 8: The Next Big Challenge: Industry 4.0 – OT and ICS Security
This is a course that is relevant to many sectors and you will gain professional skills, industry behaviours and employability skills that employers are looking for.

Entry Requirements
Participants must have completed the Introduction to Cyber Security (beginners) course or have a Level 2 qualification in information Communication Technology, Computer Science or Computing.
Students that do not meet entry requirements must complete the assessment from the Introduction to Cyber Security and achieve at least 90% pass rate.
Participants are expected to be confident users of digital technology. They will need to understand the basic concepts of:
• Cloud technology
• Coding
• Data and Information Security
• Networks
• IT Infrastructure
• Operating Systems
• Wi-Fi Networks
Participants may be required to complete “Introduction to Networks” (optional unit) if they do not have prior knowledge of networks topologies, protocols and configurations.
